SearchSounds 2.0
New: SearchSounds has now a fully dedicated blog at http://searchsounds.wordpress.com
SearchSounds 2.0 is a music web search engine. Originally developed by @ocelma, it (paper ref.) has been completely rewritten by me and now it offers more and exciting new features. It allows a user to search and browse music using tags, audio content-based similarity and (more interestingly) to combine both sources (audio+tags). The pool of queries is kept in the query bag, where a user can keep track of what he/she has been querying. Once a query is performed, the user is given a list of song items. The pool of queries is kept in the query bag, where a user can keep track of what he/she has been querying. Once a query is performed, the user is given a list of song items. Each song item consists of:
- A song title (if available in the id3 tags of the original audio track).
- A progress bar that shows the hit score of the item.
- A button to add the song to the playlist in the left panel.
- A button to read the original blog post with highlighted tags extracted from the text.
- A button to search for similar songs.
- An audio player (from http://wpaudioplayer.com/standalone/).
- A tag cloud. The different color backgrounds represent different music facets.
Future work:
More features from my PhD thesis are on their way, especially (1) the autotagging algorithm and (2) the tag classification into a richer set of music facets.
Known bugs (currently trying to solve them):

Known bugs (currently trying to solve them):
- It takes some few seconds to load results the first time a user performs a query. After that, everything should run faster.
- Sometimes, playing a song with the Wordpress standalone player won't stop the previous one.
- Querying a tag or audio that is already in the query bag will duplicate it.
If you have any doubts or if you find any error/bug, please don't hesitate to contact me. I want it to be the first publicly available music search engine that combines different sources of data to find new music.
